Re: Sallie Mae not linking
Hi,
I'm new to the site as well and looking forward to using it.
I've been trying to link to Sallie Mae as well (Loans) and it has been "Collecting account data" for about 45 mins now...I don't owe THAT much!
I've tried to unsuccessfully to add it twice before (once for Loans and once mistakenly for Dept of Education) and now they are on my list in red saying "this account needs your attention". How do I delete these two so I don't see them...or can I only hide them by selecting "Show Active Accounts"?
Thank you.

Re: Sallie Mae not linking
Maggiesdad - Welcome to DebtGoal. We don't have a high level of success in connecting with Sallie Mae - we're working on it to improve the connectivity but in the mean while, we recommend you to add these accounts manually and update them every month.
You will get most value from the program if all your debt accounts are included - they could be a combination of linked and manual accounts. We'll post on the Forum once we have a better solution for Sallie Mae and you will be able to link the account at that time.
Welcome to DebtGoal again and keep us posted about your experience and progress. Good Luck.Bhawna is a Debt Expert and is inspired by so many determined to becoming debt-free.

Re: Sallie Mae not linking
Thank you for the information.
How do I stop the "collecting account data" icon (the little green clock)? It's been "collecting account data" from Sallie Mae now for 24 hours....not sure how to delete it!
And is there a way to remove the failed accounts aka "This account needs your attention - error connecting" from my list of Loan accounts?
Thanks again!

Re: Sallie Mae not linking
Maggiesdad - you can unlink or delete accounts easily in DebtGoal. Choose the option to unlink or delete the account from the drop-down located right next to the account name. If you choose to unlink, you can simply add the latest Sallie Mae information manually. Deleting the account will remove it permanently from the plan but won't impact it in any way. You can continue to track against your goal as planned.

Re: Sallie Mae not linking
@ ZouieRusty, Maggiesdad, Oldestgal - You can now link your Sallie Mae Account with your DebtPlan and automatically retrieve its data.
We added this feature in our latest product release yesterday which will let you connect all the debt accounts that require a 2-step authentication process to your DebtPlan. Adding these accounts is simple and follows the exact same process you followed when linking your other accounts. If you've already added Sallie Mae manually, it is easy to convert it to a linked account. Simply choose the Link Account option in the account drop down. You will link the account and your statement will get automatically updated with the latest information.
Let us know how this feature worked for you. This feature has been in the works for a few months and will make tracking progress even easier. We'd like to know how easy you found it to connect and whether you successfully connected all accounts.Bhawna is a Debt Expert and is inspired by so many determined to becoming debt-free.

Sallie Mae not linking
Sallie Mae linking is not working for me either.
When I try to add my student loans from Sallie Mae (either the Loans or Department of ED Loans) link in Add Accounts, I type my username and password and click on Link Acccount; the screen simply refreshes without letting me know what happened.
It doesn't appear to link at all, yet doens't give me a red warning either.
Thoughts, ideas? I have a lot of student loans and it would be awfully inconvenient to enter all those in manually.

Bobcuzi - Sallie Mae has had issues with linking the past as well, we're looking at it again. Can we get your help in resolving this one?
I will write to you on your personal email to discuss how you can help confirm the issue and resolve it.

Support needed! Sallie Mae and AES
It is doing the same for me...I have Sallie Mae (NOT Dept of Edu ones) and it just says the following: "Sallie Mae - Loan uses an authentication process to verify your identity. You may need to answer an additional question on the next page." But there is no next page... the authentication process on their actual website requires ssn and dob after entering user info. I don't blame you guys for not getting this one working yet, as Sallie Mae has always had a terrible website and theyve just changed it again, and it's still as bad as ever.
I also can't get my AES (american education services) student loan info pulled in. This one gives me a red error "Account at American Education Services Student LoanThis account needs your attention--error connecting - Fix It" . I know i'm entering the right info because I can log in thru their actual website aessuccess.org. Suggestions?
While i'm sure it's not an easy job to get all these accounts linked up, I can't justify paying 14.95 a month if these aren't fixed....manual is simply not an option for the number of accounts i have and having to update it each month. I only have one service that did pull in successfully and that defeats the purpose of your service.
You guys should partner with mint.com as they already have all these account links up and working successfully...and their service is free. I can't wait to get this all set up successfully because you guys have a great product here but if you don't iron out the kinks soon and offer some better support (for premium pricing there should be live chat) competitors will move in and take over...it wouldn't take a lot for Mint to add what you have to their product (and I'm sure theyre already working on it)....
Any help appreciated!!

Will897 - Yes, Sallie Mae is a tricky one to connect. They don't have consistent login pages for all their users so we present the second page only when their site asks for it.
AES - Looks like the login form is rendering incorrect fields. Can you send me the screen shots of how you login in the AES website directly? Hide your personal info and just the fields at bhawna.guglani@goalspring.com. We'll fix this.
