Frustraion
I had my Firestone card paid off, and now have had two car emergencies and had to use it again. Very frustrating. But I have to keep the car running and the repairs were cheaper than taking on another car payment. I hope to have it paid off once I get my income tax return in a couple of weeks.

Good decision on both, Bettyn. Using credit card wisely and only for emergencies; tax refund to pay down debt.
I was at the local Mall in San Jose yesterday and was shocked to see a long line to get into the Coach store - they were attributing it to the 20% in-store sale and the tax refunds! Where is the new thriftiness that we had imbibed during the downturn?Bhawna is a Debt Expert and is inspired by so many determined to becoming debt-free.

Thriftiness? Who cares about that when Coach purses are on sale?!
I can understand using a tax refund for a purchase for something you want (and don't necessarily need) but I was shocked to realize that my refund this year wouldn't cover all of my CC debt. That's sobering.
